Where the lights are
The display runs along the Port Mandurah canals, where the waterfront homes decorate right down to their jetties and much of it faces the water rather than the street. Look out for the Rotary Wishing Well moored in the canals. Coins tossed in go to the Mandurah Districts Rotary Club, which passes them on to local community groups.

These are open boats and it gets cold on the water after dark, whatever the day was like.

There is a lot to look at, and phones handle the lights better than you would expect.

The Rotary Wishing Well sits out in the canals and the donations go to local community groups.

Storage is limited on every boat here, so prams and strollers are best left behind.
Common questions
When are the Mandurah Christmas lights on?
The Port Mandurah canal residents put their displays up from 1 December and leave them up until early January. Cruises run nightly through the season except Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve has its own separate cruise rather than the regular lights sessions.
Can I drive my own boat through the Christmas lights?
Yes. Both Mandurah Boat Hire and Blue Manna Boat Hire send boats out after dark over the Christmas period. Boats leave from 6:30pm and are back by 9:30pm, in two, two and a half or three hour hires.
Do I need a boat licence to hire one?
Yes. Whoever is driving needs a valid Recreational Skipper's Ticket and photo identification, and both are checked at the office before you go out.
Is it suitable for young children?
The cruises are open to all ages and children need to be with an adult. Storage is limited on every boat here, so prams are best left in the car.
